Against the recent trends, and unless you think you are Kanye, DON’T try to pull off sneakers with your suit at the office, Christmas party, or generally anywhere. If you ARE Kanye, ummm, Imma Let You Wear Those Sneakers With That Suit, But Uhhhhhhhh, Black Dress Shoes Might Be Better.
Gentlemen, impress your family by showing up in more than a t-shirt and jeans this year to your holiday get together! You can still be comfortable and maybe even try something a out of the ordinary, but not crazy-sweater-party out of the ordinary. Try something like this, and don’t get any egg nog on it:

This ad screams style, intrigue and sexy scent for men (and he’s not even naked like most perfume ads). Tom Ford is LKc’s favorite designer to copy with more affordable looks for men’s dresswear. It’s always a classic look with a tiny detail of trend. That’s him in the ad too…wouldn’t it be great if all men could pull off that kind of I-Don’t-Care-At-All stubble?? Alas, we’ll have to settle for copying Tom Ford until we have thousands of bucks to throw into a suit.
I could note for the more interested man (and this will likely be all of you if you choose to look) there are a bevy of “very interesting” ads that I assume only came out on European news stands. Google Tom Ford Perfume Ad…
An additional side note: the scent is wonderful and although pricey, might be a nice gift for the holidays.

An LKc friend shared this article that was ALL about basketball…which is great. But this blog is about men’s style…luckily, check out how rookie Johnny Flynn is dressed. Somewhere along the free-throw line, basketball stars went from ghetto-fabulous to prep-fabulous (and not just in the rookie ranks either–have you seen LaBron’s new sweater+glasses thing??). It’s winter time. It’s cold. Your fingers and toes are cold. So why are you wearing gloves with no fingers on them?!?! You can find fingerless gloves ALL over the place this season, but it’s NOT a recommened purchase from LKc Style. If you are wearing them for style…well, I think you probably look more like a bum than anything. If you are wearing them for function, perhaps you can find a glove with a tighter fit in the fingers instead. If you just HAVE to have them, at least consider fingerless gloves that allow you to cover your fingers most of the time:
It was made evident that the brown tweed vest in the GLEE Will Scheuster post might be out of budget for some loyal LKc readers. I will agree and disagree…and then lovingly give some alternatives to create the same look for even less. To agree, $90 for a vest (or most things) is expensive, period. To disagree, a nice tweed vest like that (unlike certain shirts or socks) should last you a lifetime and will be a classic, long-lasting look…so $90 over a lifetime seems a little less daunting. In any case, consider some less expensive sweater vests to create the same teacher-y look for less:
An adoring LKc Style friend texted me about when and when not to wear white socks. This seems like such a simple thing, but probably not considered as a “style” issue to the Average Joe. The idea is only wear white socks with sneakers, tennis shoes, or while playing sports or working out. Also, consider getting white socks that don’t show over the shoe…you can get them anywhere for cheap. So here’s a quick guide to follow so you don’t look like a soccer dad or a high school kid at a summer desk job:
