Before & After: College Student from the Cacoon!

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

Here lies a college student’s old life, although it will be missed, we’ll remember how cargo shorts, perpetual flip-flops, and track suits to class are no way to continue through adult life.

Fortunately, for this LKc Style client, this young gentleman is ready jump into his film directing career without looking too stuffy in a suit or too childish in shorts. We also worked on his hair style, nutrition habits, workout habits, and international etiquette for an all-around presentable and confident man. Contact LKc Style today for your own personal makeover or for a loved one who needs an appearance boost.

Old T-Shirts and Baggy Button Downs

Saturday, May 1st, 2010

Here’s a new client–M.P.–before LKc Style. We had to weed out a lot of old t-shirts drawing the wrong kind of attention and drowning button downs. My favorite part of this closet consultation was M.P. telling me he organized his graphic t-shirts by most offensive to least offensive.

Below is M.P. after his personal shopping experience. He’s able to put together a combination of shirts and jackets to go more business for work or more casual for weekends. Looking svelt, ladies, no?!

M.P. said about the LKc Style experience, “it isn’t about getting a few new styles of clothing in your closet.  It is just as much about the education of shopping smart, if not more so…I know I”ll look really good when I go out…learning how to fold clothes for travel, what patterns to wear with other patterns, colors with colors, everything from my head to my toes, [LKc Style] covers all the essentials!” Get your own personalized LKc Style experience today!!!

ReStyle: Layers in LA

Monday, January 11th, 2010

An LKc friend from LA was in town for New Years. We had a little fun doing a mini-restyle at the GAP during the ridiculous after-holiday sales. Living in LA in the winter also means versatile layers…mostly with light coats! LKc can be hired hourly if you’re also looking for a quick restyle like this one–go to www.lkcstyle.com!!

ReStyle: Casual James Bond in the Office

Thursday, January 7th, 2010

“Overall, I am very satisfied with your services. I have been eagerly wearing my new attire to work with pride. The remarks have been overwhelmingly positive…I appreciate your recommendations [of clothing] , but more so guidance on fashion sense, fitting styles, and clothing maintenance.” –Minnesota Client

LKc’s newest client works an office job, but was hoping to look more professional than his regular khaki routine–especially for client meetings. At the same time, he didn’t want to look inappropriately dressed up in a full suit either. The best route: choose GREAT high quality black and/or gray pants, then pick button-down shirts, ties, sweaters and jackets that all color coordinate in the same color palate to get the most bang for your buck!

THIS RESTYLE WAS DONE ALL VIA E-MAIL!!!!!!! LKc CAN DO PERSONAL SHOPPING, CLOSET CONSULTATIONS AND MAKEOVER VIA WEBCAM AND E-MAIL–WE TAKE CLIENTS FROM ANYWHERE!!

Success in Portland

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

Although most of my work is done locally in Chicago, I had the wonderful experience of working with a client in Portland, Oregon this week!

The client has had several major life changes and was looking for a whole new wardrobe. Being from the northwest, the client was (in my opinion) over utilizing the infamous t-shirt over the long-sleeve t-shirt thing. The too casual look was dated, but the worst part was the super-sized fit.

We went with a look that was still casual but more sophisticated for social activities. We also did a spin on the ultra comfy-casual that he’s so used to, but updated it with optimal colors and fits.

Lesson: Rock the right fit–clothes that are too big are likely making you look even bigger than you are.

On another note, Oregon is a fantastic state with much to offer in the outdoors. I was lucky enough to sit baking in the sun in a rocking chair at the top of a mountain overlooking Crater Lake:portland09-155b
