If I were an older gentlemen, I wish I could pull of this look so well. The Sartorialist does it again, capturing style in such a natural but almost to-good-to-be-true environment. Here’s how you might put this look together on a shoe-string…and not a fancy Italian shoe-string, a regular ol’ dirty shoe string:

So, you have been dating So-and-So for a while now and whether you want to or not, she’s requested you meet her parents for a little “get-together.” So-and-So’s parents are probably nice enough but will still be judging you with hawk eyes. A few tips to meet Mr. & Mrs. So-and-So:
1. Don’t try too hard–unless you’re going to a formal dinner, a tie and/or suit in this situation might make you look stuffy. Leave the formalities at home.
2. Don’t look like the slob So-and-So met drunkenly at the bar last Saturday night–more than a t-shirt is required for this event. Don’t fret, you can still be comfortable.
3. Have a good handshake ready. Think Budwiser: not too heavy, not too light.
