ESQ: We’ve read that you wear a suit every day. Why’s that?
PF: Philosophically, it’s out of respect for the cast and crew. But ever since I was a little kid, I’ve felt comfortable in a suit. It all started when my mom bought me a three-piece Pierre Cardin suit. I wore that thing everywhere. Eventually I realized I was going to be the kid who got beat up in school, but I kept wearing it. With a suit, even if you’re having a nervous breakdown, you still look like you’re in charge.

OK, OK…we know…what does this have to do with you, savvy, average man reader of ours?? Well, that’s all up to you. Luckily men’s wear on the runway is often much more street-ready than women’s lines…so perhaps take note of some trends or at the very least, enjoy the good photography. What’s your favorite??

One our favorite, but often out-of-reach-priced designers of suits and other spectacular man items, Tom Ford has been rumored to be in collaboration with one of our favorite often-in-reach-priced stores H&M! Swedish retailer H&M has been doing big US things lately (how else do you do it in America, we suppose) including but not limited to opening strategic stores from border to border and garnering MAJOR collaborations with top-notch, universally adored designers like Jimmy Choo, Cavalli, and Lanvin. Here’s to hoping Ford gives love not just to the lady shoppers of H&M but also to the growing number of sartorially inclined, but wallet-thinned young men in need of a few adult get-ups.

Even if you don’t have 12-pack abs like Jet’s OLB Jason Taylor, that doesn’t mean you can’t suit up like him. We all know the NFL can be a little flashy when it comes to…well, everything, but, perhaps this is a slightly less 1920′s gangster pinstripe that you could try on your own. Try double breasted if you are a taller gentleman (these are coming back into style more and more…), or go with single-breasted if you are average or shorter man:
