Thursday, April 7th, 2011

Oh Stephen, we love you for all your pithy and witty commentary; but even more than content on Gaddafi’s crazy hats or what those damn liberals are up to now–we are totally digging your tie choices lately (or at least your costumer’s choice on your ties…). Our Tip of the Hat to you, sir!

The Tie Bar

Wednesday, October 20th, 2010

Chicago Time Out recently did a Fall fashion guide which we loved because their models looked great and were wearing, for the most part, very affordable clothes!! We constantly see GQ, Esquire, Details and other media sources showing us great looking clothes that most of us will never be able to afford (but keep reading the LKc Style blog for more affordable look-alikes!). We noticed this great spread on ties and specifically wanted to point out TheTieBar for affordable tie options including their Tie Of The Month Club.

Where have you been buying your ties lately???? LKc Style wants to know!!

Portland Fashion Week 2010

Wednesday, October 13th, 2010

Here are a few photos taken from the first couple nights at Portland Fashion Week. There were not a large number of designers that focused on men’s clothes, but there were definitely some nice pieces for men that were featured. We added a few photos of some hot female models just for your viewing pleasure as well. Enjoy!!

Why NCAA FB Coaches Aren’t Featured by LKc Style

Tuesday, September 7th, 2010

Don’t get us wrong, we love football season and everything that comes with it (although we seem to be missing that 2-story beer bong from college)…but we’re often asked about college football coaches and it seems to be that the coaches are just so in love with the game that they forget about the nuances of being seen on TV by millions of people every weekend. So, here are the top five reasons why college football coaches haven’t been featured on the LKc Style Blog (yet…):

#5: Polo Shirts–not something someone with authority should wear during their job. Note: if you are going to wear a polo shirt, at least make sure it fits, that the sleeves aren’t too long, the size isn’t too big, and that the gatorade stains will come out.
From SI.com

#4: Pleated Khaki Pants–we know you’re all old; but there is no excuse for this, especially when you’ve gained 45 pounds since your “glory days.”

From College Football Town

#3: Windbreaker Jackets–Save these for your retirement in Florida, boys.

From The matador

#2: Headsets Bigger Than Your Head–we love technology too, but these seem like overkill. We already know you’re the man in charge…you don’t need a “coach helmet” to show us that.

From ESPN

#1: General Baldness–this is not always a bad thing (right Bruce Willis?), but paired with #2-5 above, it’s a witches brew.

Go Badgers!
Go Ducks!

Esquire Magazine Explains How To Wear Corduroy

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

Esquire Magazine handed out a smidge of info on corduroy for this Fall. LKc finds corduroy to be worn best casually, but can sometimes be dressed up if done appropriately. The best things to take away are
1. the finer the ribs (called wales) the dressier the corduroy, and
2. a thin man can wear fatter ribs and a larger man should wear finer ribs–you wouldn’t want to look like a big corduroy clown, now would you? The corduroys featured in Esquire were $220…here are some much more affordable alternatives all under $50:

GAP Straight Fit Corduroy Pants $49.50 (We like “Shark”, but all the colors here are nice)

Mossimo Corduroy Pant $24.99

BDG Corduroy Pant in Navy $39

Better Late than never…Vancouver Olympics 2010

Thursday, April 1st, 2010

I am so fortunate to have attended the winter olympics this year in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It’s a beautiful countryside with a unique urban pocket. The highlight was seeing Lindsay Vonn win a gold medal at Whistler Mountain, but only seconded by the style of those weeks: FLAGS!

And some other things of interest:
